Intercom
Sonora connects to Intercom to sync your conversations and customer data, providing insights from customer support interactions.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- Intercom admin access
- Ability to create Developer Apps
Setup Steps
Section titled “Setup Steps”1. Create a Developer App
Section titled “1. Create a Developer App”- Go to developers.intercom.com
- Sign in with your Intercom account
- Click New app
- Enter app name (e.g., “Sonora Integration”)
- Select your workspace
- Click Create app
2. Configure Permissions
Section titled “2. Configure Permissions”In your app settings, configure these permissions:
Read Permissions:
Read conversations- Access conversation historyRead users and contacts- Access customer dataRead admins- Access team member infoRead tags- Access conversation tags
3. Generate Access Token
Section titled “3. Generate Access Token”- Go to Authentication in your app settings
- Copy the Access Token
4. Connect in Sonora
Section titled “4. Connect in Sonora”- Go to Settings → Integrations in Sonora
- Click Add Integration → Intercom
- Enter your credentials:
- Access Token
- Click Connect
Data Synced
Section titled “Data Synced”Sonora syncs the following from Intercom:
- Conversations
- Conversation parts (messages)
- Contacts (users and leads)
- Companies
- Admins (team members)
- Tags
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”The access token provides read-only access. Sonora does not send messages or modify any data in your Intercom workspace.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Authentication Errors
Section titled “Authentication Errors”- Verify the Access Token is correct
- Ensure the Developer App is still active
- Check that required permissions are enabled
Missing Conversations
Section titled “Missing Conversations”- Verify the app has conversation read permissions
- Check if conversations are in an inbox the app can access
- Ensure conversations aren’t archived or deleted
